• August 20 - RODS & WOODIES CLASSIC CAR SHOW - The streets of Downtown Encinitas will be rockin’ and rollin’ when "Rods & Woodies Classic Car Show" comes to Downtown Encinitas June through September. 5:30 - 7:30 pm. • August 22-23 -ANNUAL WORLD BODYSURFING CHAMPIONSHIP - World Bodysurfing Championship contest is run in heats by age group. From 6am-5pm at the Oceanside Pier. 760-802-7452 or www.worldbodysurfing.org
• August 23 -LUAU & LONGBOARD INVITATIONAL - Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla. One of the most successful surfing related fundraisers in the world. It is a unique gathering in the true "aloha" spirit of those in the business and surfing fraternities who care about cancer research. • August 27 - A SUMMER CELEBRATION - The Bernardo Winery will host "A Summer Celebration of Red’s, White’s & GREEN-A Culinary Adventure". • August 27 - TASTE OF MAIN STREET ENCINITAS - 6pm-9pm. Food galore, lively music, great weather, and a beautiful downtown to add to the atmosphere. • August 28, 29—San Diego Street Scene More than 40 rock, rap, funk, hip-hop, indie rock, acid jazz and other musical groups perform on five stages during one of the country's leading urban-music festivals.
